Description

This house, which is now part of the Castle Hotel, was built in 1687 and has been altered over time. It stands three stories high and has three bays, constructed from slobbered rubble with a slate roof. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. On the second floor, the middle bay is blank, while the other windows are modern with plain stone surrounds. The central window on the first floor is set within a chamfered door surround. The door, located in the central bay, features a cyma-moulded surround and a battlemented lintel inscribed with 'EEC 1687'. Additionally, there are remains of blocked mullioned windows visible in the stonework, and the house has gable chimneys.
