Description

Two houses, dated to the mid-18th century, stand on the east side of Main Street in Hornby-with-Farleton. The buildings are constructed from sandstone rubble, topped with a stone slate roof. The right-hand house, number 58, is the earlier of the two and has two bays. It features two-light mullioned windows with a slight chamfer. A blocked doorway is visible between the bays; its surround has edge roll moulding. The current entrance is located within the right-hand gable wall. Number 60, the left-hand house, also has two bays and windows with plain stone surrounds. The first-floor windows are sash windows. The ground-floor window on the left is a sash window with glazing bars. The door in the right-hand bay of number 60 has a surround similar to that of number 58. Each house has a chimney on its gable.
