5/57 Mallowdale Farmhouse and farm - building adjoining to west in same range

House and farm building, late C18th. Sandstone rubble with stone slate roof. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys. North facade of 2 bays which have 3-light windows with flat-faced mullions and plain stone surrounds. Between bays is a single-storey gabled porch. In its front wall is a window with plain stone surround. Door, with plain reveals, in its right-hand return wall. End chimneys. To the right a farm building has a wide doorway with plain reveals and timber lintel. To its right is a 2-light mullioned window of re-used C17th dressings. The left-hand (east) gable wall of the house is keyed, but no building now adjoins on that side. A single-storey porch on the south side has a re-used C17th door surround which is chamfered with triangular head.
