Description
This is a 17th-century farmhouse, with additions from the 18th century, and an attached barn. The farmhouse is built of coursed sandstone rubble, with quoins, and is painted white. It has a roof of stone slates, with some slate tiles, and a chimney on the right gable. It originally comprised two bays, likely with an end baffle entry. A 18th-century outshut loomshop has been added to the rear, and a single-story lean-to stands in the lower right front corner, possibly originally a porch.
The farmhouse is two stories high. A later, single-story gabled porch protects the central doorway, which may be a later addition. Flanking the porch are double-chamfered stone-mullion windows with three and four lights, each with a hood mould. The first-floor windows are mullioned with chamfered flush mullions, with two and three lights each. The right gable wall is constructed with watershot masonry and features a two-light mullioned window. A similar window is found on the rear wall, now partially obscured by the outshut. To the left is a one-bay cottage with two-light mullioned windows on each floor and a doorway that has been altered into a small window.
The two-bay barn, continuing under the same roof, has an outshut on the front of the first bay, and a wagon doorway in the second bay.
