Description
A farmhouse, likely dating from the early 18th century, now used as a house. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, topped with a slate roof featuring gable chimneys, gable copings, and kneelers. It has a double-pile, two-bay plan, with two single-bay, two-storey additions at the right-hand end, both set back and with stepped-down levels, covered by stone slate roofs and featuring gable chimneys. A long, single-storey rear extension is also present.
The main facade is almost symmetrical, with a doorway offset to the right of centre, featuring a moulded surround and large lintel. A two-light window sits above the doorway on the first floor. Otherwise, there are two windows on each floor, with five lights on the left-hand side and four lights on the right, all featuring slightly recessed stone mullions. The lower windows have simple hoodmoulds. The additions to the right have first-floor windows of three and two lights, with garage doors beneath. The left return wall has similar windows on all floors, and the rear features one window of two lights on the first floor of the second bay, and another in the side of the extension.
Inside, original features include an original staircase with splat balusters, one large kingpost roof truss, and an exceptionally large stone fireplace in the back wall of the rear extension.
