Description

SD 71 NW TURTON THOMASON ROAD Edgworth

7/139 Nos. 6 and 7 27.1.1967 (Formerly listed as Nos 6 and 4 - II Thomas on Fold)

Farmhouse, probably c.1700, altered, now 2 dwellings. Coursed sandstone rubble on low plinth, with large quoins, stone slate roof with gable chimneys. Two-bay plan with rear extension. Two storeys; continuous dripcourse at 1st floor; 2 doorways slightly left of centre, the left with modern glazed porch, other with plain surround; to the left one altered window on each floor, the upper in an old opening lengthened downwards; to the right 2 windows on each floor: at right end a recessed window of 2 round-headed lights (probably originally a firewindow), and above this at 1st floor a square window with chamfered surround, other 2 windows both of 2 square lights with a chamfered mullion, the lower recessed. Left return wall has 3 blocked round-headed lights (2 at ground floor, one above) and an attic window of 2 lights with a simple hoodmould. Interior altered.
