Description
A row of three cottages dating from the 18th century, originally four in two phases of construction and later altered into three dwellings. The cottages are built of coursed sandstone rubble, with a stone slate roof that has a ridge on two levels, incorporating a square chimney in front of the upper ridge and a smaller chimney on the lower ridge. The left-hand section of the row has a double-pile plan with two bays and a first-floor band, and has been remodelled with a rear extension. The right-hand section has a single-pile plan with two bays. The left-hand section has a doorway at each end, while the right-hand section features one door at the right end, and a blocked doorway in the left-hand bay. Each half of the row has two three-light casement windows on each floor, likely replacing earlier flush mullioned windows. The cottages are listed for group value with Brandwood Fold Farmhouse.
