Description
The building is a garage located approximately 20 metres west of Westby House. It is a barn or workshop from the 17th century, which was formerly a wheelwright's shop for the Clifton Estate and is now used as a garage. The structure is primarily made of handmade brick and features a steeply-pitched thatched roof. It has a rectangular plan with three small bays. The building was originally lofted and now has modern garage doors in the centre. Above the doors, there is a dormer in the eaves with wooden doors, and to the left, there are two coupled slit openings. The left gable includes a similar small three-light attic window with a label, and on the ground floor towards the front, there is an interrupted label above a much larger former opening, which now has an inserted door below it and another door to the left. The rear of the building has two inserted windows. Inside, the first roof truss features a reused cruck blade as a tie beam, while the other truss has been altered.
