Description
Wilkinson's and the attached cottage on the right are a pair of cottages dated 1788. They are constructed from coursed squared sandstone with quoins and have a slate roof featuring a ridge chimney. The buildings are double depth and each has a single front. They are two storeys high and built as a reflected pair, with a doorway at the outer end. The doorway has a straight lintel that runs out over a horizontal three-light window, with a similar three-light window above, the latter featuring sliding sashes. In the center of the first floor, there is a shouldered datestone inscribed with "J H". Attached to the right is a single-bay 19th-century cottage, made from similar materials, which is two storeys higher. This cottage has a doorway in a plain surround on the right side and one four-pane sash window on each floor. There is a chimney at the junction gable, and below this, the outline of a formerly more steeply pitched roof of Wilkinson's can be seen.
