Description
This barn, located approximately 40 metres west of Stanfield House, is likely from the early 18th century. It is constructed of handmade brick set on a stone plinth and features a stone slate roof. The barn has a rectangular plan with five bays, and it includes a 19th-century shippon at the rear and an 18th-century extension at the front of the fourth bay. There is a wagon door located in the front of the third bay, along with ventilation slits positioned at four different levels. Inside, the first bay contains a lofted stable, and there are various roof trusses, including at least one that appears to incorporate former cruck blades, along with raking struts and a collar.
