Building Attached To Warehouse On Canalside At Junction With Manchester Road

This industrial building, likely a textile factory, dates from the mid-19th century and has been altered. It is constructed from coursed rock-faced sandstone and features a corrugated sheet roof. The building has a rectangular plan that runs parallel to the canal, which is located on its east side. It stands four storeys tall over a basement, with six windows on the second floor. The first floor has a rebuilt wagon entrance at the right-hand end, and all windows have raised sills with 20th-century glazing. The eaves slope down from left to right. The rear of the building, which overlooks the canal, has six small windows on each floor. The interior has not been inspected. This building forms a group with the warehouse at the junction with Manchester Road and is included for its group value.
