SD 83 SE BRIERCLIFFE WITH EXTWISTLE 3/3 Barn c.30 metres north of Holden Farmhouse 1.8.86 at SD 885 338

Barn. Probably C17. Coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, stone slate roof (damaged). Five bays with front and rear outshuts at south east end, under carried down roof, wagon entrance in centre of south side recessed between larger outshuts (which may be additions); at each end a doorway with chamfered surround; similar doorway in rear opposed to that at left end now blocked, rear wagon doorway also mostly blocked.
