Description
This is a cottage adjoining Henhurst Lock, with an attached stable at the rear. It likely dates from the early to mid 19th century and has been altered and restored. The building is constructed of coursed sandstone rubble and features a composition tile roof with brick chimneys. It has a rectangular plan that runs parallel to the canal, with a lean-to addition at the back. The cottage is two storeys high and has four windows on the front, arranged as two sets of two. There is a square-headed doorway offset to the left with a plain surround and a single-light window above it, flanked by two-light sash windows with plain surrounds. To the right, there is a similar doorway and a large canted oriel window positioned slightly above and to the right of this doorway. The left gable has a chimney, while the ridge chimney is offset to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
