Description

Dunham School Bridge is a public road bridge that crosses the Bridgewater Canal. The canal was opened in 1776, with John Gilbert as the engineer. The bridge is constructed of brick with sandstone dressings and features a segmental brick arch along with a stone band. It has stone copings that rise to a small apex at the center, set on brick parapet walls. Brick buttresses support the walls on either side of the arch.
