Description
Yew Tree Cottage and Lime Tree Cottage are two houses that were originally a single dwelling, possibly dating from the 17th century. They are constructed of English garden wall bond brick with a slate roof and feature a former three-unit baffle-entry plan with two storeys. A door has been inserted to the left unit, which is Yew Tree Cottage, and there is a 20th-century extension at the rear. Each cottage has three-light casement windows on both floors, with segmental brick arches over the ground floor windows, except for the ground floor of the first unit, which has a four-light window. The building has a stone plinth and raised eaves line, with gable chimney stacks, one of which is located to the left of the house. Inside, there is a notable splat baluster stair, a sphere, a bressumer beam that is chamfered on the fireplace side, and oak panelling that is said to have been reused from the "Dog on the Wall" public house.
