Description
This is an 18th-century shippon, incorporating earlier cruck elements. It is located west of Wigsey Farmhouse on Paddock Lane, Warburton. The building is constructed of English garden wall bond brickwork with a slate roof, forming an L-shaped range of farm buildings extending over two storeys. The original northern wing features an owl hole and an illegible datestone including the letters "M" and "A" within the gable, along with vents. A later wing appears to be of subsequent construction. Inside, two open collar-tie cruck trusses remain in reasonable repair, resting on stone padstones, each exhibiting double cruck spurs. The upper level was not inspected.
