Description

Agden View is a house, dating from 1725 as indicated by a datestone above the former entrance. It is constructed of English garden wall bond and Flemish bond brick, with a graduated slate roof. The original two-unit, two-storey plan was extended in the 18th century with one bay to the right, and further extended in the early 19th century with another bay, which has a higher roofline. A porch was added to the rear in the 20th century, at which time the original door openings were bricked up. The house has a total of seven windows, some being casements, and others being 1, 2, or 4-light windows. One casement window is placed beneath a cambered brick arch. Two sash windows are located in bay 5, which also features stone sills, keystone wedge lintels, and two chimney stacks. The rear elevation mostly has casement windows, although a patio door has been inserted into bay 5.
