Description

The obelisk in Whiteoaks Wood is an 18th-century structure made of sandstone. It serves as a prominent feature at the end of the northern view from Dunham Massey Hall. The obelisk has a tall shaft that rests on a stepped plinth. There is a local tradition suggesting that this obelisk marks the burial place of a racehorse.
