Description
Barn Cottages, originally a barn, were converted into two cottages before 1751. The building is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a 20th-century tile roof. The projecting cart entries, which have stone quoins, have been bricked up as part of the 19th-century conversion. Each cottage has a central entrance, with rooms on either side, and they are both two storeys high. There are a total of ten window openings with stone sills, segmental arches, and sash windows, including one tripartite sash window, with most retaining their glazing bars. The left-hand bay is used for storage and has a casement window. The roof is steeply pitched with coped gables and kneelers, and there are four chimney stacks. The building also features numerous blocked vents on the gable ends, as well as some on the front and rear.
