Description

Two small piers, originally designed as obelisks, date from the early 18th century. They are made of stone and feature square shafts with a base, cornice, and a pyramidal cap. These piers mark the boundaries of the garden forecourt, which was once enclosed by a wall. They are depicted in paintings by Harris from around 1751 and are included for their group value.
