Description

Moorfield Cottage is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick with a graduated stone slate roof. The house has a double-depth, central-entrance plan with an additional two bays set back to the left. It is two storeys in height. A panelled door is set within an elliptical arched opening and is sheltered by a gabled porch. There are four three-light casement windows on the ground floor, each with transoms and flat brick arches. The first floor has three casement windows. All windows originally had leaded lights, although some have been replaced. Gable and ridge chimney stacks are present. The left gable has been rebuilt. The rear elevation features a mix of casement windows and an original door, as well as inserted garage doors.
