Description
The White Horse Public House is a mid to late 18th-century building that has been partly rebuilt in the 20th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick and features a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan with six by two bays and stands two to three storeys high. The entrance includes a Tudor-arched door with a 20th-century gabled porch located in the fourth bay. There are a total of eleven flush sash windows, with 12 and 16 panes, all featuring stone sills and cambered brick arches. The eaves cornice is dentilled. The first five bays appear to have been rebuilt in the 20th century. Bays five and six extend from the gable to form a three-storey wing at right angles, which has two bays on the right return and two windows on each floor, all with cambered brick arches, keystones, stone sills, and either casement or sash windows. The rear of the building has three-light casements and various lean-to additions. The structure includes ridge and gable chimney stacks, while the interior has undergone significant alterations.
