WORSLEY HAZELHURST ROAD SD 70 SE (north side) 2/35 Hazelhurst Hall 29/7/66 Farmhouse - II

Farmhouse. Early C18. English garden wall bond brick with slate roof. 2 rooms deep by 2 wide with 2 bays and 3 storeys (plus attic). Gabled elevation with off-centre door flanked by C20 bay windows. The door has studded ledges, an overlight and a shell canopy has been replaced by a roof which continues over the bays. 2 first and second floor windows and 1 in the attic all have replaced 3-light timber mullion and transom casements and segmental brick-arched heads. The right return shows the roofline of the earlier hall; the left return is rendered. Chimney stack on right slope of roof. Similar windows at rear but with stair windows at the half level. Interior: 6-panel doors with H hinges. Closed string stair with balusters and moulded handrail. King-post roof truss. Vaulted cellar.
