Description
Westfield Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse constructed with English bond brickwork on a sandstone plinth, featuring brick quoins and an eaves dentil course, topped with a clay tile roof. The building is a long, narrow block with gable stacks and includes a slightly later projecting wing on the forward right side. It stands two storeys high with an attic and part basement, and has a five-windowed façade with cross mullion and transom windows made of wood, set under a splayed segmental brick arch with a flat extrados and stone key. The central entrance features a four-panel wooden door framed by an architrave, topped with an 18th-century panelled flat hood supported by consoles, and is accessed by five steps arranged in concentric semi-circles. The gables have louvred openings for the attic spaces. Inside, there are chamfered and stopped beams, window shutters, and dado panelling on the ground floor to the left, with a basement located under the left end of the house.
