Description
Lapley Farmhouse is a late 17th-century dwelling, originally a farmhouse. It is constructed from coursed stone, with squared marlstone to the right gable, and features a brick extension to the left. The roof is covered with concrete tiles. The building is a long, end-gabled block, likely built in stages, with a projecting hipped stair turret at the rear and gable and central stacks.
The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, with a partial basement. It has a three-by-two window arrangement to the front, including four small hipped dormers. The right gable has two small, shuttered openings to the attic space. At the first floor are four two-light stone-mullioned windows, three with dripcourses, and one deeper window with a cross-mullion and transome. The ground floor has one late 20th-century casement window, two two-light stone-mullioned windows matching the first floor, and a deeper window with a cross-mullion and transome towards the right end. A 19th-century porch and door are positioned off-centre to the right, accessed by steps. To the right of the final window is a two-light mullioned casement window leading to the cellar.
The rear has a small hipped dormer, a deep stair projection in the third bay, and two cross-mullion and transome windows towards the south gable, mirroring those on the main facade. The interior was not inspected during the listing review.
