Description
The piers, dwarf wall, gates, and railings at Westfield Farm date from the 18th century. The structure features a dwarf brick wall approximately five or six courses high, topped with weathered stone capping. There is a short brick wall at the left-hand end, with cast-iron spear-head railings and matching gates extending from the left end of the main facade to a projecting wing on the right. At the center, there are a pair of square gate piers made of limestone ashlar, which have moulded bases and caps. These piers support steep ogee-shaped heads topped with acorn finials. This architectural ensemble is significant to the overall appearance of the farmhouse.
