Description
Metham Hall is a house dating from the early 19th century, with a later addition. It is built of brick in Flemish bond and features stone dressings, topped with a Westmorland slate roof. The building has two storeys and four bays, with the right bay being narrower than the others. The entrance is located on the left return and consists of a six-fielded-panel door topped by a radial fanlight, all set within a pedimented Tuscan porch. To the left of the entrance, there are two sashes with glazing bars from the later addition, while to the right, there is a tall, unequal 15-pane sash with shutters.
On the first floor, the windows are sashes with glazing bars of varying sizes, including one to the right that also has shutters. All windows feature cambered channelled wedge lintels with keystones. A timber cornice runs along the top of the building, and each section has a hipped roof. Corniced stacks rise through the pitch of the roof. The garden front displays four sashes with glazing bars and shutters, all below cambered channelled wedge lintels with keystones on each floor.
