Description

The commemorative urn located on the south side of Davyhulme Road in Urmston dates from the mid to late 19th century. This stone urn is plain yet substantial, standing nearly 3 metres high. It features a stepped plinth and is set among trees. The urn is believed to mark the burial site of two racehorses that belonged to R.H. Norreys of Davyhulme Hall.
