Howard's farmhouse and adjoining cottages

Three houses. Early/mid C18 perhaps incorporating earlier work. Watershot stone with graduated stone slate roof. Each house is double-depth and has three storeys, except right house which is two and four storeys. Total of nine bays. The left house has stone quoins, projecting plinth, central square-cut stone door surround, 4-light windows to bay 1, 2-light to bay 2 and 5, 4 and 7 to bay 3. All have recessed cavetto-moulded stone mullions. The middle house has a central door and 2-light recessed chamfered stone mullion windows to bay 1 and 4-light to bay 2. The right house has recessed flat-faced stone mullion windows and the end bay is recessed and has a square-cut door surround and 3-light chamfered mullion windows on three floors. The rear has a small C19 range as well as a 4-light cavetto-moulded window and a hoodmould which may date from C17.
