Description
Overgreen is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a slate and graduated stone slate roof, along with brick chimney stacks. The building has an L-shaped, two-storey layout, with a projecting plinth and stone quoins, and a total of three brick chimney stacks.
There are two doors: one in bay 2, which has a square-cut surround but has been converted into a window, and another in bay 4, also with a square-cut surround, which is now obscured by a 20th-century buttress. Bay 1, which is an addition, has a 6-light window on the ground floor with chamfered stone mullions and a flat-faced design on the first floor. To the right of the door, there is a 2 and 4-light double-chamfered cavetto-moulded stone mullion window, and a 4-light flat-faced mullion window on the first floor, although two of the mullions have been removed. The rear of bay 1 projects as an outshut. The large rear wing features three triple sash windows and a double-chamfered stone mullion window, and it was extended by one bay at some point.
