Description
Bridge Number 12 over the High Lane Arm of the Macclesfield Canal is a canal bridge built around 1830, with some 20th-century repairs. Designed by William Crosley for the Macclesfield Canal Company, it features coursed dressed sandstone with ashlar dressings, including the bridge arch, a chamfered string at deck level, and rounded coping on top, with variations in treatment for each parapet. The bridge has a semi-circular arch, and the revetements end in projecting square piers, while the canal side revetements are curved. The deck is cobbled, likely part of the towpath improvements made in 1985.
