Description

Beech House, along with the adjoining coach house and front railings, is a house dating from the early 19th century. It is built of Flemish bond brick and features a graduated slate roof. The house has a double-depth central-staircase plan with two storeys plus an attic, and the coach house is located to the right. The façade consists of three bays with a stone plinth, a central four-panel door flanked by side panels, enriched consoles, a semi-circular brick arch, and an ornate radial fanlight above the door. There are two ground floor windows and three first floor windows, each with 12-pane sashes on the ground floor and 9-pane sashes on the first floor, all with stone sills and slightly cambered brick heads. Gable stacks are present on the roof.

The coach house features two elliptical-headed doorways, one large and one small, as well as a door on the left with an elliptical fanlight and a lunette to the right with a stone sill. The coach house has a gable pediment with a central ashlar dressed oeil-de-boeuf. At the rear, the central bay is gabled, rises to a third storey, and includes a round-headed stair window and a circular attic window. The front garden is enclosed by ornate cast iron railings and gates.
