Description
Shady Oak Farmhouse is a 17th-century building that stands two storeys tall with attics, constructed from rubble stone that has been rough-rendered. The farmhouse features a central advanced gabled bay, which includes a stone mullioned window with three lights and a label above and below, as well as a similar window with two lights in the gable. There is a moulded stone square-headed doorway topped with a 19th-century tiled pentice hood supported by brackets. Each wing of the farmhouse has one window with five lights, also featuring stone mullions and labels. To the right, there is an advanced low gabled wing with a modern window. The roof is covered with machine tiles. Shady Oak Farmhouse forms a group with the outbuilding at Shady Oak Farm and the odd-numbered houses 1 to 5 opposite, all of which hold local interest.
