Description
Torkington Hall Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse that has seen additions and alterations, particularly in the 19th century. Originally timber-framed on a stone base, it is now mostly constructed of brick with a rendered front and features slate and stone slate roofs. The building has an irregular two-storey layout with three bays. The front elevation is symmetrical with twin gables and a central picturesque Gothic porch. On the ground floor, there are two 2-light mullion and transom casement windows, while the first floor has three such windows. The farmhouse is adorned with ornate pierced bargeboards. At the rear, two gabled wings of varying heights project, showcasing square-panel timber framing that has mostly been covered by planted timbers.
