Description
Higher Shore Farmhouse and the adjoining barn are a farmhouse and barn from the early 19th century, possibly incorporating earlier elements, with the barn dated "EB + 1849" on its lintel. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone, partly watershot, and feature a graduated stone slate roof. The farmhouse is a two-bay, two-storey structure with the barn under a continuous roof to the left. It has two and three-light flat-faced mullion windows on each floor, a blocked door to the right, and a later door in the right return. There are ridge chimney stacks present. The barn has an elliptical-arched door with a small light above, which is topped by a segmental lintel and impost blocks. There is also a blocked door on the left gable. An outshut at the rear of the barn now forms part of the house. The buildings are included for their group value.
