Description
Nos. 6 and 7 on Top O' Th' Meadow Lane is a house that features the inscription "JMS 1726" on the door lintel, although it primarily dates from the later 18th century. The building is constructed from hammer-dressed watershot stone and has a slate roof. It consists of three bays and two storeys, with a 20th-century porch and a lean-to addition on the right gable. The structure includes quoins and a projecting plinth. The porch is flanked by ground floor windows, which are three and four-light flat-faced stone mullion windows, with the latter being recessed. On the first floor, there are two three-light windows. The house has gable chimney stacks, and the first bay is set back, featuring a dressed door surround with the dated lintel. Additionally, there are one, two, three, and five-light windows on the gable and rear, some of which have chamfered mullions.
