Description
Fenton House is a town house that has been converted into a hotel. It was likely built in the late 18th century, with some alterations and additions made in the early 19th century. The exterior features painted render on brick and a slate roof with two levels. The building has a double-depth plan, with a projected bay on the right and a set-back wing on the left. It stands two storeys above a basement and has five windows plus a two-window wing. The central doorway is accessed by steps and has a 20th-century porch. To the right of the doorway is the projected bay, which has a segmental bow at the front, three square 12-pane sash windows in the basement, and three rectangular 12-pane sash windows on the ground floor, topped with a coped parapet. The remaining windows are similar in style, with altered windows on the first floor. The gables have copings with kneelers and gable chimneys. The left gable end features two windows on each floor. The interior has not been inspected.
