Description
No. 27 Ardwick Green North is a town house that dates from around 1805 to 1810 and forms part of a pair with No. 27 Manor Street. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring sandstone dressings and a hipped slate roof. It has a narrow single-fronted plan with a back extension, standing three storeys tall with a cellar and three windows. The facade includes a stone plinth and a wooden cornice with modillions.
To the left, there is a round-headed doorway with a set-in doorcase supported by engaged Tuscan columns, a panelled door, and a fanlight with radiating tracery. To the right of the doorway are two 12-pane sashed windows, while the first floor has three tall 15-pane sashes. The second floor features two 9-pane sashes; originally there were three, but the central window has been removed and replaced with matching brickwork, leaving only its head visible. All windows have raised sills and flat-arched heads made of gauged brick. A tall chimney is located on the right-hand gable. The interior has not been inspected. To the left of No. 27 is the returned side of No. 27 Manor Street, and to the right is No. 29, known as Milford House.
