Description
No. 27 Manor Street is a town house that is part of a pair with No. 27 Ardwick Green North. It dates from the 19th century and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring some sandstone dressings and a hipped slate roof. The building has a double-depth, double-fronted plan and stands three storeys high with cellars. It has three symmetrical windows, a stone plinth, and a wooden cornice with modillions at the eaves.
The central entrance is a round-headed doorway with a Tuscan doorcase, a panelled door, and a fanlight that has radiating glazing bars. The ground floor has 12-pane sash windows, the first floor features tall 15-pane sashes, and the second floor has 9-pane sashes, all with raised sills and flat-arched heads made of gauged brick. There is a stone plaque on the right at the first floor, inscribed "ARDWICK GROVE." A gable chimney stack is located on the left side, and the two-window right-hand return side matches the front fenestration. The interior has not been inspected. The building forms a group with Nos. 21 and 25, and No. 29 Ardwick Green North.
