Description
No. 31 Ardwick Green North is a house that has been converted into a workshop. It dates from the early 19th century and has been altered over time. The building is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with some sandstone dressings and a slate roof. It has a rectangular double-depth, double-fronted plan and stands two storeys over a basement. The façade features five symmetrical windows, with the basement altered. The eaves are dentilled in stone, and there is a raised central doorway that has been changed into a window, with the original steps removed. This doorway has a shouldered architrave and a pediment above it. The first-floor window above the doorway also has a similar architrave, a bracketed sill, and a dentilled cornice. There are four additional windows on each floor, all with raised sills and flat-arched heads, but the glazing has been altered, and some windows have ventilators inserted. There is a doorway at the left end with a plain stone lintel. The building currently lacks chimneys, and the rear and interior have not been inspected.
