Probably a textile warehouse, now restaurant, etc. 1840s; altered. Sandstone ashlar and red brick in Flemish bond with sandstone dressings, (roof not visible). Rectangular plan. Georgian style. Basement and 4 storeys, 6 bays, symmetrical, the outer bays breaking forwards slightly, with channelled rustication to basement and ground floor, and a modillioned cornice with blocking course. The ground floor has doorways in the outer bays, round-headed with rusticated surrounds and pediments, and sashed windows (basement openings altered); the windows of the upper floors all have moulded architraves, those at 1st floor shouldered with dentilled cornices and those at 2nd floor also shouldered, with 4-pane sashes except those at 1st floor which have altered glazing. Interior not inspected. Forms group with Nos.41 and 43 to left and 49 to right.
