Description
Numbers 2 and 3 East Parade is a former bank that has been converted into a shop and restaurant. It was built in the mid-19th century and underwent restoration and remodeling in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and features a slate mansard roof. It has a plinth, sill bands, a string course, and a moulded cornice. The end bays are slightly set forward. The structure has three storeys plus attics and a six-window range. The windows are 20th-century plain sashes. On the first floor, there are four windows with brick flat arches, flanked by single windows that have panelled pilasters and cornices. Above this, there are six windows with brick flat arches, and above again, six segment-headed dormers. The ground floor features four windows with moulded round heads and blank fanlights, flanked by single round-arched doorways that have shop signs as overlights. Both doorways include keystones and glazed doors. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
