Textile warehouses, now restaurant etc. Probably c.1860-70; altered. Red brick with sandstone dressings, slate roof. Rectangular plan. Simplified palazzo style. Five storeys over basement, 3 wide bays; stone pilastered ground floor (see below), sill-bands to all upper floors, moulded cornice with blocking course. Ground floor in 3 differing portions: to the left, tall coupled round-headed doorways (that on the right altered as a window), with panelled spandrels and a cornice on elongated brackets which have incised decoration; in the centre, 3 narrow segmental-headed windows with pilastered surrounds and keystones similarly decorated, and a cornice; to the right, 2 narrow segmental-headed windows and a doorway with rusticated surrounds. Tripartite sashed windows to all upper floors, those at 1st floor with pilastered architraves and that in the centre with incised decoration and a segmental pediment over the centre light, those at 2nd floor with panelled aprons to the lights and cornices arched over the centre, and those above more simply treated: all these windows sashed without glazing bars. Rear and interior not inspected. Included for group value.
