Description

The entrance gateway and gates to the former Lancashire Independent College were built around 1840 by Irwin and Chester. Constructed from sandstone ashlar and cast iron, the gateway features octagonal gate piers topped with pinnacles and a gabled archway on each side. In the center, there are elaborate cast-iron gates. This structure is aligned with the GMB National College, forming a central axis with it.
