Description

The railings, gates, and gatepiers in front of the north block of William Hulme Grammar School were likely constructed in 1886. They are made of brick with sandstone dressings and feature cast-iron railings. There are two pairs of square, banded gatepiers topped with shaped pyramidal caps, along with low walls that have stone coping. The gates and railings are adorned with fleur-de-lys standards and traceried panels. This structure is included for its group value.
