Description
12 and 14 Lever Street are a pair of town houses that have been converted into a shop. They were built in the early 19th century and have undergone alterations. The exterior features stucco on brick with a slate roof. Each house has a double-depth plan and is single-fronted, standing three storeys tall over cellars. The façade has three windows on each side, with round-headed doorways located in the outer bays. These doorways are framed by doorcases with engaged columns, acanthus-leaf capitals, fluted entablatures with paterae, and dentilled cornices. The ground floor openings have been altered, while the first floor has sashed windows without glazing bars, and the second floor features 4-pane sashes, except for the first and second windows at No. 12, which have been altered. The wooden eaves are dentilled and have been restored. There are ridge chimneys on the roof. The rear and interior of the buildings were not inspected. This pair of houses forms a group with No. 10 and No. 8 to the right.
