Description

Nos 2 to 14 on Manchester Road is a mid-19th century terrace built in a classical style. The building has two storeys and a basement, constructed from red brick with stone dressings. Notable features include a first-floor sill band, window sills and lintels, an eaves cornice, a blocking course, and quoins at the left end corners. Each house typically has three or two sash windows, with some ground floor windows being tripartite. The doors consist of four moulded panels, some of which have been altered, and are framed by pilasters, topped with a dentilled cornice, and recessed in an arch with a plain fanlight. Some of the inner doors feature engraved glass. Additionally, there is a bay window on each return facade.
