Description

This milestone, made of cast iron, dates from 1898 and is located in Victoria Square on the south side of Stockton Heath. It has a triangular shape with cast lettering that reads "Cheshire County Council 1898" at the top. The left side indicates distances to Preston Brook (5 miles), Frodsham (8 miles), and Chester (18½ miles), while the right side shows distances to Lymm (4½ miles), Altrincham (11 miles), and Manchester (19 miles). It is prominently situated at the main crossroads in Stockton Heath.
