Description
This is an early 18th century two-storey and attic cottage, originally with two windows, located on the west side of Chester Road in Ellesmere Port and Neston. The cottage is constructed of brick with a stone plinth, and features painted bands at the floor levels. The roof is slate with a stone ridge, and there are two chimneys. The front door is made with six fielded panels. Inside, the north front room contains an inglenook with an oak beam decorated with original applied mouldings. There are also some oak beams and two original oak cupboards in the corners of the north bedroom’s chimney. A Georgian built-in cupboard with a semi-circular arched head is present in the south bedroom. The doors are now replacements.
