Description

The Church of St Mary of the Angels is a Roman Catholic church built in 1879 by E J Tarver. It is constructed from red sandstone and features a nave, an apsed chancel, a round apsed north chapel, and a vestry or sacristy. Atop the ridge is a small open belfry. The narthex, located under a portico roof, includes five carved panels depicting the symbols of the evangelists. The west window is a rose window with four trefoils, while the nave windows are designed with plate tracery. The chancel has lancet windows, and the west window of the north chapel is a spherical triangle above three lancets, featuring stained glass by Mayer of Munich.
